Our story

Where it all began.

Some of the best things in life start with a shared passion.
For Rein and Evi, that passion is hospitality, great food and the perfect drink to go with it.

They met where it all began, at a Michelin-starred restaurant and hotel,
where Rein worked as a maître and sommelier and Evi managed reservations and organised events.
Since 2019, they have shared not only their lives but also a deep love for everything that makes a table truly special.

The man behind the taste

Rein has spent over twelve years mastering the art of hospitality at the highest level. As a sommelier, he has an extraordinary palate, always searching for the best, always asking the same question: is it delicious? If the answer is yes, it belongs on the table. If not, it does not.

Away from work, Rein has an obsession that surprises most people: tomatoes. Not just any tomatoes, he has grown over 68 different varieties at home, experimenting with flavours, textures and aromas season after season.

When he first tasted tomato water, something clicked. Tomatoes are naturally rich in umami, complex in structure and long in finish, everything a great drink should be.

The woman who makes it happen

For Evi, Tomadoro is deeply personal. Over the past few years, she noticed that alcohol no longer suited her the way it once did. Not because of one defining moment, but because of how she felt the day after. Yet she missed the experience, the complexity, the ritual, the feeling of having something truly special in your glass. That feeling is what drove her to Tomadoro. And with Tomadoro, that feeling is back.

Evi has always been someone who turns ideas into reality. After years in hospitality, from the front desk to organising events, she built a deep understanding of what makes a guest feel truly welcome. For Evi, hospitality was never just a job. It was a way of thinking.

When Rein's tomato experiment started gaining the most enthusiastic responses from guests and professionals alike, she knew this was it. Her eye for experience, quality and detail made her the perfect partner to turn a passion project into a real brand.

The name Tomadoro

The name came to them on a holiday. Tomadoro is a blend of two words: tomate, the Spanish word for tomato, and pomodoro,
the Italian word meaning golden apple, the name Italians have to the tomato.
It felt right immediately. Warm, gastronomic and a little bit romantic.

The tomato in the Tomadoro logo was drawn by Rein himself, a small detail that says everything about the passion he puts into this brand.

They believe that if you do not plant the seed, nothing will grow.
Tomadoro is their seed, planted with care, grown with passion and ready to be shared with the world.
